FINTRAC’s financial intelligence was recognized by the Winnipeg Police Service following an interprovincial drug investigation targeting a network of individuals with ties to organized crime including the Hells Angels, Wolfpack Alliance and the Mexican Cartel. As a result, 33 individuals were arrested and charged with 174 drug trafficking, proceeds of crime and conspiracy related offences. Investigators also seized over $37.2 million worth of illicit drugs (estimated street value), 14 firearms, approximately $825,000 in currency and 1.35 million illegal cigarettes.
